Blooming Daisies Mother's Day Card

Hello, Everybody and Happy Thursday!

Today I wanted to share with y'all my spin on Chloe Endean's beautiful  new Blooming Daisies Cut and Emboss set! (Poor, Chloe! I'm certain that she never envisioned her clean, elegant designs being utilized quite like this!) But, what can I say? Y'all know that my shabby-chic loving, Kraft paper addicted inner self can only be suppressed for so long before it throws a raging temper tantrum and demands some play time.

As crafters, I think we all have our own unique and individual "style souls." And, while I enjoy forays into 'clean and modern' or 'blinged-out glamour' as much as the next girl, aside from my Art Deco obsession, my true stylistic heart can probably best be described as 'Tattered Texan.' Sigh.

Crafter's Companion Layered Background Stamps

Hello, Everybody and Happy Friday!

Tonight I wanted to share another clean and simple card with you featuring the wonderful new Background Layering Stamps from Crafter's Companion! Most of y'all probably know by now that I often find inspiration in some...unusual places, and today's make is no exception. A while back my local art supply store had a clearance sale on some asymmetric slanted canvases. They were so ridiculously inexpensive that, of course, I ended up bringing a stack of them home with me. While I have yet to actually *make* anything with them, they have turned into one of those "musical chairs" type items in my house. I've probably moved them from one location to another at least a hundred times in an attempt to get them out of my way. Whilst tripping over them again this afternoon, it suddenly struck me what an interesting concept something similar might be for a card technique! (See? I knew I bought them for a reason!) As you can see from my materials list, it doesn't get any more simple - I didn't use a single die! Just be prepared to pull out your calculator!

Spectrum Noir Premium Marker Pad (White Cardstock)
Cardstock in Navy Blue and Lavender
Ink Pads

Card Size: 5x7 in.

P.S. For anyone who might like to duplicate this technique: On the elevated strip ends, I used a double layer of foam squares, the middles have a single layer of foam, and the flat ends are attached with Collall.

Hello, everybody! For this week's project in my quest to make something each week featuring my older Crafter's Companion products, I took the advice of a very wise lady and made something I love. While I always enjoy making cards, (yes, even the sometimes tedious batches) my true love, and the thing I find the most joy in making, are cards like this one: one of a kind, no holiday or event bearing down on me, not even a particular recipient in mind. Instead, I simply root through stamps and dies until something screams out, "use me!" This week it was one of my very, very, absolute all-time favorite collections: Catitudes! I hope you like this little trip to the past with the divine Miz Carmen! (And a very big thank you to DJ!)
