Crafter's Companion Layered Background Stamps

Hello, Everybody and Happy Friday!

Tonight I wanted to share another clean and simple card with you featuring the wonderful new Background Layering Stamps from Crafter's Companion! Most of y'all probably know by now that I often find inspiration in some...unusual places, and today's make is no exception. A while back my local art supply store had a clearance sale on some asymmetric slanted canvases. They were so ridiculously inexpensive that, of course, I ended up bringing a stack of them home with me. While I have yet to actually *make* anything with them, they have turned into one of those "musical chairs" type items in my house. I've probably moved them from one location to another at least a hundred times in an attempt to get them out of my way. Whilst tripping over them again this afternoon, it suddenly struck me what an interesting concept something similar might be for a card technique! (See? I knew I bought them for a reason!) As you can see from my materials list, it doesn't get any more simple - I didn't use a single die! Just be prepared to pull out your calculator!

Materials Used:
Crafter's Companion Crocus Collection Background Layering Stamps
Spectrum Noir Premium Marker Pad (White Cardstock)
Cardstock in Navy Blue and Lavender
Ink Pads

Card Size: 5x7 in.

P.S. For anyone who might like to duplicate this technique: On the elevated strip ends, I used a double layer of foam squares, the middles have a single layer of foam, and the flat ends are attached with Collall.

  1. Wow! I really had to give this one a second look over! How cool is this! I cant wait to try this and I have these stamps! Pure awesomeness! Thank you:)

    1. Thank you so much, Dyane! It's so funny, I was just thinking about this card tonight and mulling over what other ways I might be able to use this technique. It's subtle, you really have to look at it to get what you're seeing, but I thought it was a fun spin (or slant?) on the typical segmented cards. I'm so excited that you like it! 💜
