Crafter's Companion Script Words Die Set

Hello, Everybody! I hope that you are all enjoying a safe and fun weekend! I just wanted to pop in for a minute and share another Craft Event SNEAK PEEK with you!

During her September 10th HSN visit, Sara will be bringing THREE fantastic sets of word dies with her. I made this card using the new "Script Words" die set - my favorite! Each of these core word die sets includes *30* different words so that you can mix and match to create the perfect sentiment for any occasion. Plus, each word die has its own matching shadow/outline layer die - for a total of 60 individual dies per set. These are an amazing bargain and an essential cardmaking staple, for sure!

Now...I've noticed on some previous posts that a few of y'all have mentioned having difficulty lining up word die cuts like these and getting them all nice and straight on your card - so, I'm going to share a little trick I use! Rather than adhering your words directly to the card, cut a piece of vellum the same width, but one inch longer than the card layer you want to place the words on. Score the vellum at one half inch on each end - this should make a perfect sleeve for your cardstock layer. Next, lay the vellum on top of a sheet of lined notebook paper - or any kind of lined paper - and adhere the word die cuts to the vellum using the visible lines underneath to get everything nice and tidy! Presto - you have a perfectly aligned sentiment! To finish if off, simply apply some red liner tape - or your glue of choice - to the back top and bottom of your cardstock layer, glue down your vellum layer tabs, and you've got a perfect result every time! (If you are using a large piece of vellum, you *may* want to use a little glue or tape runner adhesive on the backside - hidden behind the words - to ensure the vellum lies nice and flat over your cardstock layer.)

Crafter's Companion Circle Sentiment Stamp & Die Set

Hello Everyone and Happy...Wow! Is it Friday already??? I have no idea where this week has gone. If I'm totally honest, I have no idea where this MONTH has gone, but here we are on the cusp of September and...you guessed it! Another HSN Craft Event!

Y'all know how much I always struggle with these "Sneak Peeks" ahead of the shows. I never know which of my makes to post. And with so many of the items already available on the HSN website, and so many of you already busy at work on your *amazing* creations with items you've already ordered, I am even more clueless than usual about what y'all might like to see!

So...knowing how much we papercrafters ALWAYS love to add new sentiments to our collections - let's face it, you can never have too many! - I thought I couldn't go too wrong in sharing a card I made featuring one of the wonderful new Circle Sentiment Stamp & Die Sets! This card is a bit of a two-for-one, so I have included two pictures - the first one is of the card closed with the sentiment used as a belly band adornment. The second picture is of the card opened and in its presentation position. I hope you'll like it!

Crafter's Companion Poinsettia Perfection

Hello, Everybody!

Can you believe that we've finally made it to Friday? Not much longer to wait now until we get to see the amazing Sara Davies and her phenomenal products on HSN! Woo-hoo! I don't know about y'all, but I am SO excited to see all of the brand new goodies live on air!

Speaking of being live...I had planned to save this Sneak Peek until a little closer to air time, but after watching the crazy talented Craig Laird preview the Poinsettia Perfection Collection (HSN Item # 672-485) yesterday, I simply couldn't wait a moment longer!

Now...I really struggled with how I wanted to introduce this sample. Should I mention how long I've begged for a collection JUST like this? Should I remind you all of the Great Disappointment Christmas Card Batch from last year that I simply *could not* make myself love because I wanted a beautiful, ornate, Crafter's Companion Victorian Lantern to use instead of the more rustic, non CC lantern I had to settle for? Should I tell you how absolutely honored I am to have been chosen to provide a sample for this collection? Ultimately, it comes down to this: This is the Christmas Collection of my dreams. And I thank Crafter's Companion with all my heart for making those dreams a reality.

Hello Everybody and Happy Tuesday!

I really, really hope that y'all will be sure to add the flat-out AMAZING new Harmony Opaque Pigment Ink Pads to your shopping bags. I love all of the Harmony inks; very rarely do I make a card that doesn't use some version of ink pad from this amazing range. And I can tell you with total honesty that these are very likely to become my new favorites. They do everything!!! Want to heat emboss? Check. Want to use with stencils? Check. Want to do intricate stamping with beautifully saturated color and no gloppy smears? Check. Want to whip out a paintbrush and do some watercoloring? You got it!

On this card I used the Flowers & Frames Stamps and Inks bundle, HSN item # 672-507, to do a little bit of everything! The main flower sections were stamped and allowed some air drying time. (Maybe a half hour.) I then went back in to stamp the center stamens, which were then heat embossed. This allowed me to maintain the matte appearance on the flower petals, while adding a bit of dimension and shine to the centers. For the sentiment, I stamped and heat embossed the lovely square floral frame, then masked off the center square with simple copy paper and low tack tape. Using my round SN blender, I pounced the Sandstorm pigment over my rudimentary stencil for some added color contrast. Even the die cut leaf sprigs were colored with the Pigment pads! These inks do it ALL! (Can you tell how much I love them? LOL.)

Hello, Everybody! Who's ready for more Christmas in August?

Some of y'all may (or may not) remember an asymmetrical sliced stamp card that I posted a while ago after tripping over a stack of slanted canvasses. (Still haven't done anything with those, in case you're wondering! *blush*) You were all so sweet about that plain little card! When I received my Design Team assignment to create a sample using the fun Mistletoe Moments background layering stamps, I knew immediately that I wanted to use a similar technique - only with a little more drama! I really hope that you like the results! 💜
